Top 6 Iceland keto friendly curries and sides (UK)

If you’ve ever shopped at Iceland, you’ll be aware that they do a great range of takeaway style meals. They can usually be cooked in the microwave or oven, and be almost as a good as the real thing. However, most are not keto friendly, as they either contain too much sugar or come with high carb sides like rice, pasta and potatoes. Luckily, Iceland do sale a few keto friendly curries!

What to look out for

Iceland sells over 40 different frozen curries, and most are not keto friendly, as they contain too many carbs per serving. However, there are a few that are safe for keto. That being said, they are more for the occasional treat, than as an everyday meal! They still contain quite a few carbs, so should only be eaten if it fits in your daily macros (for most <20g of carbs).

Serving size

  • Most of the curries sold contain two servings. A normal pack weighs around 350-400g, so a portion would be about 180g. Each portion, should ideally contain less than 10g net carbs.
  • If you are going to have the whole pack to yourself, then you need to make sure you don’t hit your carb limit for the day. However, if you’re following OMAD (one meal a day), then any of the curries below should be fine.
  • You probably won’t want to have it on it’s own. Take a look at possible side dishes below.
